MBRP Exhaust Systems in Aluminized Steel for the Ford Power Stroke, Dodge Cummins, and GMC Duramax

DPPI has all the MBRP aluminized steel exhaust systems available for your Dodge Cummins, Ford Power Stroke, and Chevy Duramax diesel pick up. The aluminized steel systems are available in both single and COOL DUAL system designs.

The MBRP aluminized exhaust systems, offered by Diesel Performance Parts, Inc., are constructed entirely of aluminized steel mandrel bent tubing components. The down pipe is designed to end just before the transmission cross member in those applications where necessary, eliminating the need to remove the cross member to install the system. The muffler is six-inches round by thirty-inches long, containing an inner packing material made of stainless steel wool, with a ceramic wool outer packing. The interior of the muffler is a four-inch, solid aluminized steel tube that dampens the resonance of diesel exhaust and keeps the interior noise level of the cab within comfortable levels of the original equipment system. The outer case of the muffler is NOT a piece of flat stock rolled into a round muffler. The muffler starts out as a six-inch diameter section of aluminized tubing. The added cost of building the muffler with tubing more than justifies that expense in long product life.

The first place a diesel exhaust system will usually fail is in the muffler and almost always at the weld seam that runs the full length of the muffler case. Because MBRP utilizes factory formed tubing that potential failure problem is eliminated. The inner muffler tubing is constructed of a one piece of solid aluminized steel four inch louvered core, not multiple parts. The muffler design uses a Spiral Flow louver that is specifically designed for diesel exhaust performance. Notice too, the size of the louvers is small to eliminate any restriction, but large enough to dampen exhaust noise. Some competitive louvered mufflers use extremely large louvers that are a major restriction in exhaust flow. The spiral pattern of the louvers promotes the same twist the turbocharger introduced to the exhaust gasses as they left the turbocharger. The spiral pattern of the louvers helps speed the exhaust gasses out of the exhaust system to lower the exhaust gas temperatures as quickly as possible. The muffler uses innovative designs like the reversed washer muffler end plates. Most exhaust manufacturers weld the muffler end caps or washers to the outside of the mufflers inner tubing in an exposed area. That is OK if you are using only stainless steel! However on aluminized systems that weld will be exposed to the first rain or salt spray you encounter. We take our end cap and stamp it with an internal flange to protect the muffler and provide the longest possible lifespan. Another benefit of the reversed end cap is a smooth attractive muffler appearance.

The spiral flow louvered muffler is a six-inch diameter by thirty-inch long, aluminized steel case, containing six inches of an inner packing material made of stainless steel wool, with a ceramic blanket outer packing. The competitions diesel muffler in a lot of cases is a hollow core/can without any packing material that actually produces a restriction by allowing the hot exhaust gasses to get into the outer “can” and then trying to “fight” their way back out of the outer can into the main exhaust stream. That is the exact opposite of the reason you are looking for a performance exhaust systems in the first place.

The tail pipe is a four-inch aluminized steel mandrel bent tube that provides the maximum clearance for the suspension and spare tire during installation. The systems we offer DO NOT have a two piece tail pipe design. Not only is a two piece design more prone to corrosion and moving out of alignment as the systems ages and corrodes, but it has an unattractive clamp joint that is readily visible on all four wheel drive applications. A tail pipe made out of a single piece of aluminized steel is exactly how the OEM manufacturer designed your factory system and it is the best most secure and attractive way to build a performance system as well. Diesel Performance Parts, Inc. offers four different tips that are available in five-inch T-304 stainless steel as either a straight cut or angle cut single wall rolled edge or as a dual wall straight cut or angle cut edge designs. The tip is located directly behind the rear wheel and is battered by road debris. The road debris will cause rust almost immediately in a chrome-plated tip, but not in a T-304 stainless tip. The rear hanger of the muffler is even adjustable to allow you to tilt your tail pipe and or your five-inch T-304 stainless steel tip up or down based on the ride height of your truck and your individual preferences.

The joint clamps provided in our systems are plated to prevent corrosion and provide a long life. Stainless steel joint clamps can not be used effectively as the threads of the fasteners will gall up when tightened sufficiently to seal the joints

The exhaust system will lower your exhaust gases by up to as much as 200 degrees, while providing a quicker spool up time on your turbocharger. There are even fuel mileage gains with our exhaust system, which will vary by individual driving style and location. The horsepower and torque gains will depend on your manufacturer and model of truck and are listed in the application section of our site. Extra power is great, but lower exhaust gasses will allow you to make other performance modifications to your diesel engine and still keep the exhaust gas temperatures at a safe level.

The aluminized steel systems are protected by our exclusive One Year Warranty Policy, to the original purchaser.
